What should I wear during the massage? First, the massage therapist will leave the room to give you privacy to undress and get comfortable on the massage table. You should undress to your level of comfort. For a full body massage, 50% of people get completely undressed and the other 50% undress down to their underwear. Your massage therapist will work around any clothing you decide to wear during the massage.
Will I be covered during the massage? Professional draping is used at all times during the massage session. Draping is the technique of uncovering only the part of the body that is being worked on during massage. Draping allows you to be undressed to your comfort level underneath a sheet/blanket and feel safe, warm, and unexposed. The genitals (women and men) and breasts (women) will never be uncovered. If the massage therapist is going to work on a woman's abdomen, a second towel or sheet will be used to cover the breasts so the main sheet or towel can be moved to expose the abdomen.
Is it okay to talk during the massage? Please feel free to talk with your massage therapist during your session. In fact, communication during your massage can help the massage therapist determine the best strategy for meeting your specific needs. Alternatively, you may prefer to zone out, relax and quietly enjoy. Some people are so relaxed, they actually fall asleep. This is okay too. In many instances, people may feel more relaxed starting off talking, and as the massage progresses, enter quiet states of relaxation. The important thing to remember is that this treatment is all about you relaxing and enjoying the experience. However, please let the massage therapist know if anytime you want the pressure adjusted, you are too warm or too cold, etc.
What do I do during the massage? Make yourself comfortable. If your massage therapist wants you to adjust your position, she/he will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It's up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.
Should I leave a tip? aA tip is a great way to say "Thank You" to your massage therapist and are always appreciated. However, tipping your massage therapist is never mandatory. Should you choose to leave a tip, you have the opportunity to add a tip on credit card at the time of checkout or you may give cash directly to your massage therapist.
